Lund's were the successful low bidder on this $1m lump sum fixed
priced tender for the reconstruction of the Dunedin HM Custom House
into a restaurant. The project was substantially over budget and
there was no quantity surveyor involved in the project. Lund's were
instrumental in providing alternative solutions and reducing the
cost to within the project budget. Despite many changes during
construction (often the case with reconstruction projects) the
project team worked very well together and the project was
completed on time and to a high standard.
Lund South Ltd were the lead contractor on the Custom House
construction and restoration project. The Custom house is
recognised as a heritage landmark building in Dunedin. At tender
the client, the Otago Regional Council, found that the tenders
received (of which Lund South were the lowest) were in excess of
their expectations. Lund South agreed to work with the Client and
their Consultants to reduce the cost of the project without
affecting the overall visual integrity of the development. This
cooperative approach ensured the development was able to proceed.
Lund South then produced the physical construction phase on time,
within a tight timeframe, and with professional and prompt response
times.
